Kurdistan’s Nature Must Not Become a Casualty of War—– The forests of Kurdistan are part of the identity and life of this land. They provide water and clean air, shelter dozens of species of animals and plants, and play a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of the region. Yet this natural wealth has been under continuous threat for years as a result of military activities, deforestation, and the destruction of forest areas.Cutting down Kurdistan’s forests to construct military roads and positions, burning forest areas, and destroying the natural environment do not mean the loss of a few trees alone. They mean the destruction of part of the natural life and future of this land.Kurdistan has already paid a heavy price in the blood of its people and through the destruction of its land and environment as a result of wars and military interventions. This land, which has been wounded for decades, must not see its forests become another casualty today.Every tree that is cut represents a loss to the environment, and the destruction of forests also means destroying part of the future of generations to come.We strongly condemn any action that contributes to the destruction of Kurdistan’s forests and environment, particularly when such actions take place in the context of military operations and activities.Kurdistan is not merely land; it is life. And the forests of Kurdistan are not merely trees; they are part of the future of this land.Kurdistan’s nature must not become a casualty of war and military operations
